I am a university student studying media production.
And am currently involved in making a documentary with the brief 'An Institution in change'. My group chose the george cross flag.We are involved in research and are looking at how the flag has changed from being an important, patriotic symbol to now being seen as racist and offensive.
What are you views on this? Is it simply political correctness gone mad. Its very interesting. I hold the view that it is absolutely ridiculous.
It is as if you are not allowed to be english anymore, or say you are. The flag is now being taken down at community events and municipcal buildings, because of its aparrently racist nature.
What are your views on this? Do you know of any specialist individuals who know much about this issue, or any other information sources.
I would be grateful for any information you can give me.
Thanks
Chris Darvell

If the person posting this message left their e-mail address, we inserted some random characters to prevent spammers from harvesting their address. Spammers do this with automated "bots" that constantly search the Web looking for e-mail addresses. Since you're a human being, not a bot, you can easily obtain the real address by removing the text that says "ThisisToPreventSpam-XYZ-RemoveThis." including the random number XYZ and the period at the end. For example, <info@ThisIsToPreventSpam-123-RemoveThis.interesting.com> would become <info@interesting.com>.
