: Can someone provide me the history on England's flag, the St. George's Cross? My daughter choose England for her Social Studies project on European countries as, she said, "Your people are there, Mommy."

Reply:

The English cross of st george was first seen in England after 1066. It was infact the pope's banner bought over by "the bastard" william who on his death bed admitted that he wasnt the rightful heir to the throne. The pope gave his blessing to william to take over England but the normans only ever had a hierarchy in England. The people remained saxon, jute and angle in ethnicity.
Incidentally, the cross of st george was the first flag planted on north american soil in, I believe, 1495.
Hope this is of interest

Spammers do this with automated "bots" that constantly search the Web looking for e-mail addresses. Since you're a human being, not a bot, you can easily obtain the real address by removing the text that says "ThisisToPreventSpam-XYZ-RemoveThis." including the random number XYZ and the period at the end. For example, <info@ThisIsToPreventSpam-123-RemoveThis.interesting.com> would become <info@interesting.com>.
